Do I need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment?

A common question people ask is whether they need to see their GP before booking in with a Foot Health Practitioner. The answer is simple: no, you don’t need a doctor’s referral.
Foot Health Practitioners in the UK are independent practitioners. This means you can book an appointment directly whenever you feel you need support with your feet—whether that’s help with nail care, corns, calluses, cracked heels, or general foot comfort.
While you don’t need a referral, there are times when your GP or other healthcare professional may recommend that you see a foot specialist. Equally, if during your appointment I spot something that needs medical attention or specialist treatment, I’ll always guide you back to your GP or onward to a podiatrist for further care.
This way, you get the best of both worlds: easy, direct access to regular foot care, with the reassurance that you’ll be signposted to the right place if something more complex arises.
The good news? You can simply book in whenever your feet need a little extra care—no waiting lists, no referral required!
